Japanese Friendship Garden

The Japanese Friendship Garden is a collaboration between Phoenix and its sister city of Himeji, Japan. The garden was built 20 years ago after a proposal from the mayor of Himeji. It is part of a cultural and business relationship between the two cities.

Burton Barr Phoenix Central Library
Located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, the Burton Barr Phoenix Central Library is a major landmark in the city’s history. It serves as the administrative headquarters for Phoenix Public Library, one of the largest libraries in the Phoenix area. Its architecture is impressive, as it stretches 280,000 square feet and houses 1 million volumes.
In recent years, the Burton Barr library has received hundreds of emergency calls from police and medical officials. These calls include cases of sex crimes, fire emergencies, and medical emergencies. Some incidents have been documented, such as a four-hour video that shows a woman repeatedly engaging in sexual acts at a library desk. This video has been viewed on a pornographic website for five years.
In January of 2018, a wanted felon walked into the largest library in Phoenix with a gun. Security tried to get him to leave, but he refused. Instead, he yelled racial slurs and pulled a 9mm handgun from his waist. A good Samaritan helped disarm him before police arrived.
Children’s play area

Fundraising campaigns
